Terms of Service

(Version: TOS-1.00; July 1, 2026)

By using BiliGuide, Robert L Stavis, LLC (RLS-LLC), the developer of BiliGuide, grants any healthcare professional a limited non-exclusive license for its use, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. BiliGuide is provided solely as an aid to clinicians managing newborn jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia.
  2. The information and graphs displayed in BiliGuide are not intended, nor may they be used as a substitute for professional evaluation and judgment.
  3. BiliGuide is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.
  4. Data for a patient identified only by a random system-generated 5 or 6-character code may be saved in BiliGuide for a code-identified User and/or a code-identified Team so that the User and/or Team can access the data in subsequent sessions. Each code has over 33,000,000 variations so it’s unlikely but not impossible that the data could be accessed by another User or Team.
  5. Data is saved for a limited period of time and is not maintained in an audit trail. BiliGuide does not store User, Team, or hospital names, patient names, addresses, dates of birth, or any other potential HIPAA-recognized patient identifiers. Only the User or Team who created the record is able to correlate the code with a particular patient. While the IP address of the computer used to access BiliGuide may be recorded by the web server, this information is not saved in relationship to bilirubin values or codes. RLS-LLC cannot retrieve or provide saved bilirubin values except through the functionality available within BiliGuide.
  6. BiliGuide does not maintain an audit trail of patients, Users, data, results displayed, or the guideline version that was used. BiliGuide does not create an electronic medical record and should not be used as a record of patient care.
  7. RLS-LLC disclaims any and all liability whatsoever, and User acknowledges and agrees that RLS-LLC shall not be liable for any claims, losses, or damages of any kind whatsoever related to the use of BiliGuide or its content. RLS-LLC expressly disclaims that any use of BiliGuide by any party establishes a clinician-patient relationship or a responsibility for medical decisions.

By using BiliGuide, the User hereby acknowledges and agrees to the foregoing terms and conditions.
